Hello ellis cleuza ramos da cruz, what a brilliant answer. This is getting interesting. I really liked your point of view, because it is important to show both parts of history. It’s so true that for a long time black people have been underestimated. In history, movies, music, science and pretty much everywhere. As I said before I totally agree when you say that it is important to show “the other version” of history, but my question is how? Let’s talk about BET for example. Why not just call it ET and show black and white music? Do we have to take sides to show the “other side” of things? Are we not the same? And if we are the same (human beings) why not just talk about things without taking any sides? In my opinion we are humans and that is it. And humanity has made lots of mistakes in the past but we have the ability to choose a different path. Let’s think about a scenario where BET dominates the market in 50 years. What will happen is that white people will start feeling discriminated and black people will become the oppressors. Is that what we want? We once were the victims, but do we want to become the villains? We should create movies about great people, and not about “great black people” or “great white people”. We should create great music, not “great black music” or “great white music”. To show the other side of history we don’t need to use the label “black this” or “black that”, we just need to call it what it is without using the label “black”. Language drives thought. If we don’t use certain words we don’t think about that concept. And if we don’t think about the concept of race, with time, it will disappear. We will refer to skin color by using words like “dark skin” and “light skin”…

Imagine if there was a word to describe people with certain shape of nails? That would be absurd right? And that’s how absurd the concept of race is…
